PSA: I believe 100wh / 27000 mAh is the max the FAA allows on flights.

Not sure where you're getting that number from. Here is a blog right from Anker's website. Anker makes these powerbanks.

I can tell you where. Click the link to the woot page. it's in the power bank description under "features" for the product.

I'd believe a technical blog rather than a product description page written out by an intern. Anker's own product description on it's own site does not make this claim. If you see it there. let me know.

Freeze the video at 4:51.

99.54Wh is even stamped on the bottom of the actual product. I suppose that intern struck again.

Did you bother to read the whole thing? It's talking about a single cell:
Battery Capacity: 3950mAh @ 25.2V. There are 7 in there, as listed on the next line. This is why it's misleading. Again, read the blog I shared.

...And neither does it say it's FAA or TSA approved anywhere

Check the info graphic for this product that literally says "AIRLINE SAFE". There's even a picture of this power bank on an airline tray table. So you're telling me that Anker's own website is lying? You keep referring to the blog, but no average consumer is going to nerd out by reading that when the product description says it's okay to take on a plane. But go ahead and stop yourself from taking this on a plane.

Claiming it's Airline safe is not the same as it being FAA or TSA approved. Anyways you do you. I absolutely do not recommend taking such large packs on the plane without explicit approval. As usual you did not bother looking at the blog, where they discuss technical details. Oh well.

Did you read the blog post? The Wh capacity of a battery is dependent on the voltage. All the calculations in the table assume a 3.7v battery. Did you ever consider that the batteries in this pack might not be 3.7V? In fact, just above it mentions that most batteries used in power banks like this are 3.6V - 3.7V. And if you do the math with a 3.6V battery you get...99.54 Wh, which is exactly the stated capacity and perfectly fine on an airplane. The bottom of the battery even says "25.2v", which is exactly the voltage of seven 3.6v batteries connected together.

Second, the TSA and FAA don't approve individual power banks. They set a limit and it's up to the manufacturers to create banks under that limit.
