Note that not all Blackstones can be converted to NG, and that this is one of two conversion kits. Not totally sure what the difference is but for my griddle, which is an "Omnivore" model, they specified kit #5395. Here is the page at Blackstone that covers the kit (kits?) and compatibility.

No matter which you need kit note that the hi-temp sealant for the replacement orifices is NOT included and you will have to supply it yourself. From the instruction manual:

"Note: Thread sealant should be rated to 400° F (204°C) and be compatible with natural gas.
(Permatex #59214 or Loctite 567)"

Natural gas is mostly methane. Propane has much higher energy density.

I did this conversion. Absolute no-brainer if you have a natural gas hookup on your deck or patio (or a perfectly valid reason to run a line out there from your main).

NG definitely a plus from propane. I have a Weber Spirit that's 15 years old, only on NG. Use it often. Imagine the savings & ease of use over time. No brainer if you have an NG outlet nearby.

I just got the mini 17" Blackstone and this is still tempting. Hardline NG on your deck is usually a no-brainer if your house has NG. I haven't messed with propane in 15 years (until now).

Any reason this wouldnt work with any Blackstone models? Edit: the 17" and 22" are NOT compatible with this kit.

Just a heads up, it's super easy to over tighten these and snap the head off, be careful!

Good deal, did this to my Weber grill. You can buy at Walmart as well. Same price.

Octane is just resistance to ignition, no real difference in energy density. Here's a diagram of energy density of common fuels: https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy...ensity.png

Propane runs at a higher pressure than methane. Compressed propane is liquified. That's why it's called LP. It boils off and that gas is used in the grill. Not directly compatible without a converter.

Learned this the hard way when I got this kit last year. Otherwise works great.
