I'll add: Make sure your big tank has lots of propane in it or you will only get a 1/2 fill at best.

Yes, or since I run these during the winter I will be sure to place the big tank indoors in front of a heat source before filling and small tank in freezer for sure.

Do you also blow yourself up when you change bottles on your grill and other propane appliances? Been using this exact same adapter for many years to fill up smaller bottles without issue. It's super simple and don't see how anyone would blow themselves up doing it unless they're idiots.

Thanks. Did not know about this. I've struggled filling them in the last this might be why.

There's no reasonable danger in getting 'blown up' unless the user is such low IQ as to not be able to understand the simplest and most basic of safe & proper procedures in the inspection, hookup, and operation of this device.

It works that way also with most ANY other device as well, for that matter.

You're getting half a fill or less because the liquid changes to a gas when it undergoes a pressure change. Spend the extra money and get the refillable tanks. They have a purge valve to release the air and make room for the liquid propane. They are also dot approved

Also, turn big tank upside down and then open the valve so the liquid pours in
