Proves my point: Both of those i5 have a lower performance than this Core 3. Then you take a hit on RAM or SSD size or both. These are deals from 3 to 6 months ago and don't invalidate the current Costco deal.
200 maybe a deal, 300 could get a i5 nowadays

In store also 299
An i5 may not necessarily perform better than this Core 3. Care to share a link so we can compare?

Yes, you can charge through USB-C: "1 USB Type-C 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.4b, HP Sleep and Charge)"

PC world review says you cannot charge it via USB, only from the proprietary circular charger:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/2...eview.html
"Battery life is above average among similar laptops. I can push the computer hard for over three hours. If I don't push it too hard, it can last a working day. But it's best to have the small charger with you because you can't charge the battery via the USB-C port, only with the charger's special round plug."

This is not even the same laptop being reviewed in that article. Last year's model, previous generation CPU, different screen.

Even then the review explicitly says "Battery life above average among similar laptops" and gives a range from "3 hrs 10 min (high load, full brightness)" to "15 hrs 15 min (low load, low brightness)". Running a budget laptop with a lower-end CPU at high load full time is probably not the typical use case for it. But to each his own. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

And a slower processor too. The only feature the Best Buy laptop has over the Costco one is a touchscreen. And you give up in every other spec (CPU, memory, storage, nonbacklit keyboard, low screen resolution) to get it. Not worth it at all.

I'm looking at the specs, can you still expand the SSD? Another PCI slot or something

Just got one for my dad and one for my aunt. Clearwater, FL store.
I'll try to open it up tomorrow and answer some questions on this thread.

So far I've seen the following:

>USB C charging?
>Is the RAM upgradable

This is a bit concerning as I believe that 300nits should be the minimum. Perhaps those who bought thsi laptop can say if screen is ok.

$350. So not much of a deal.
$50 off the sale price doesn't seem too bad.

It mean you can charge other attach devices like mobile phone or watch using this laptop.

It doesnt mean this laptop can be charge from a USB C charger

Inter 3 100u 6-core can't outperform i5 1235u(10-core) and i5-1335u(10-core)

You won't find any 300nit screen anywhere close to this price point. 250 is actually a step up from 220 seen in some real entry levels.

Picked up a floor model at my Costco for $260. It is a very responsive laptop. Super fast boot and no complaints when browsing. Image quality is not bad but certainty entry level which is to be expected. Runs fairly cool even under load.

!!!!UPDATE!!!!

The charger is barrel, NOT USB-C. A bit of a bummer, The color of the barrel tip is blue, I've seen HP use this one quite a bit.

The RAM is upgradable! there are 2 sticks in my unit
1 Micron 8gb DDR4 PC4-3200
1 Samsung 4GB DDR4 PC4-3200
