Perfect battery for their blower. It won't do heavy fall leaves in New England, but it does cleanup of everything else so easily. The only time I break out the Stihl blower is in the fall.

I've always wondered who Milwaukee was targeting with these things. They're built like they're for commercial use, are much heavier than residential options that serve 99% of residential customers, and are vastly over priced when compared to gas.

For a homeowner, get the quik lok kit with an edger, trimmer, pole saw, blower setup all in 1 using only a single battery.

For a commercial guy, they'd use gas as charging isn't convenient and is significantly less expensive and weigh less.

It's like trying to sell a Hellcat to someone who needs a Prius.

That being said, I demo'd these for a month with a lawn crew, they overheat when used in a commercial setting and the vibration is intolerable when used for more than a couple hours but they are absolutely powerful enough. If they could get the weight down, figure out the vibration transfer up the users arm, and get some kind of cooling within the tool by the batteries, this would be fantastic.

There are places that are banning the small 2 stroke engine yard equipment. More wealthy areas I believe...heard it quite a while ago. So primary market for these is probably crews maintaining nicer gated communities, some town and park crews too. They will solve the charging inconvenience with money.

I don't have a lawn mower, decent sized backyard (10k) and from now on , I want to cut my own grass.

It's just grass and some wild bushes.

Do you think this will do the job? Or still need a mower to go with this monster?

I've got the single battery one a few years old, and question what the hell a homeowner would need a dual for.
I could probably do my weedwacking for the year on a single 5ah battery. Hell, i have the hedger attachment and do a 20 foot stretch of 10 foot tall hedges with it on a single charge, and that thing has like 1" thick branches on it.
That said the single battery one is an absolutely awesome tool.

I'd be willing to bet you could cut your entire lawn on a single charge, but that is a lot of work if you want it to look nice.
They sell a brushog head for this, which i suspect is its intended application, and that will chew threw stuff an inch thick no problem.

Yup, becoming a big thing around here in north jersey. Restrictions on their use even in commercial applications, restrictions on times of year, tight restrictions on hours\days.....
I'm not a commercial guy using it all day, but i really don't find the weight difference any different than my stihl gas one with a full tank. If anything i find it a bit more balanced, and in some cases wouldn't mind a little extra weight on the head. It cost me, with battery around the same as I paid for the Stihl i bought a half dozen years ago, and other than changing out the string, and then ultimately getting fed up with milwaukees setup, putting in my own, has required absolutely 0 maintenance.

Yeah the problem with Milwaukee is, they are so late to the game and at a high weight and cost. We demoed the Husqvarna trimmer that was mower powerful and 250 dollars less for the kit. The weight is a serious issue, Stihl FSA 135? was load lighter and same power, the Husqvarna was the same way, and when holding something for multiple hours a day, 16 vs 11 lbs makes a huge difference.

My guys all hated the weight, I think it was a 5lb difference when loaded, and the high frequency vibration caused hand fatigue and shaking after using the tool. We tried husqvarna, echo, stihl, dewalt, Milwaukee, and Toro units as there is a desire to use more electric units near pools, offices, and sports courts and found the Husqvarna the best all around. We only use them at the customers request as once you use them once, they will always want the electric services. We also have a Mean Green mower that we use in rare occasions.

Does this one overheat constantly like the regular fuel 18v quik-lok model
I'm on an acre, no overheat so far and I suspect you would have a hard time pushing it to that point. As others have pondered out, it is a beast and obliterates weeds better than my gas Mayurama string trimmer.

Imo, this thing is ludicrous overkill for the average person's string trimming needs. Finally getting down to a more reasonable price, though.

Why would anyone buy this when Stihl is in same price range
