Ipad gurus, what's the better deal — this or the M4 Pro 11" for $799?

Edit: Looks like Bestbuy also has the new M4 magic keyboard available for $180 in Like New condition.

My wife has this exact iPad and I have the 11" pro wifi, we both don't feel like there's a difference in performance. It's just the PROmotion makes it feel less jarring on transition with the Pro. The pro is a little lighter and thinner as well. She edits photos using Lightroom on hers, and I watch YouTube on mines...go figure.

Correct, but unclear to me how big of a step up the M4 is (with double the standard memory) which is why I'm asking for input from folks who have experience with both or are more tech savvy than I am

For $50 more, you can get M2 iPad Pro 12.9 at Costco.
Or $649 for M2 11 inch Pro at somewhere, search on here

My personal preference is for iPad Pro over air. I do use it for art and music. This makes the iPad Pro much more useful than the air. However that was based on my experience with air from a decade ago. At that time it was bitter that it couldn't use Apple Pencil and I had to deal with forced upgrades.

I glanced at most specs for both of this gen and they both seem comparable for usage. I still think if you use it for serious art & music production as producer of these things, using apps that require heavy load then pro becomes preferential for that extra juice. But if you are a consumer with entertainment usage, m3 would be more than adequate for general usage with plenty of horsepower for that.

The difference for the user depends if they plan doing apps that are heavy, particularly in graphics and music. For educational purposes I couldn't leave the apple ecosystem as they have been more reliable and dependable, albeit the safer and boring route (lacking innovation).

Apple, they optimize for the hardware so when they add a little hardware the software integration has been very optimized. They make lemonades out of lemons, rather than offer a big lemon to attract users. I use to be big on hardwares but I have gone to focus on the service and warranty on products over physical specs.

With that said, where did u see m4 for $799? I would go for that!

Thanks! I just noticed one of the military sites briefly had it on sale the day I originally commented (it wasn't posted to SD) so I picked it up there. $200 off for the M4 seemed good enough for me.

In 2025, promotion is a deal breaker. Especially on iPads.
