Yeah... This stuff is crazy slow. That's why it's fairly cheap.
I must have missed the ddr5 12,24,48,96 sticks. I've only ever known the 0.5,1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128 sticks.

Still surviving on 16GB ddr3 dual channel but it is showing age when windows decides to launch antivirus in the background

I must have missed the ddr5 12,24,48,96 sticks. I've only ever known the 0.5,1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128 sticks.

Still surviving on 16GB ddr3 dual channel but it is showing age when windows decides to launch antivirus in the background

They arrived during the 13th gen.
A compromise as 4 sticks still tended to lose clock speed.

Prices are stagnant enough that the 128GB I bought in 2023 has been a stable investment the entire time.

One benefit of this model is despite the Alienware Aurora R16 and ACT1250 suggest that all RAM runs at 5200 MT/s, this RAM (at least the 64GB and 128GB kits) runs at 5600 MT/s. Nice little bump...

16GB forces you to close things. It works, but you can tell it's limiting.

PM me if you've got spare slots and want me to mail some DDR3. I used to work tech repair and have a box I've barely touched in a year of extra sticks. If they're 4GB, they're useful.

This right here; prices have been good enough to just appreciate whether or not you're using it. At the rate current things are going, might actually need 64GB+ sometime soon.

Yeah. Since Crucial stopped their Ballistix (gaming enthusiast) line in favor of a "business customer focus" in 2022, they now only do higher latency sticks.

For people who aren't accustomed to DDR5 and the higher clock speeds, technically the CL rating is relative to the memory clock rate (MHz), so the same CL value is less actual time when running at a higher clock rate. This is why CL values move up slightly when clock speeds go up. This CL value is still quite high relative to other brands though

If you took this 5600 MHz CL 46 kit and ran it at 5200 MHz, would it still be CL 46 or could you have CL 43?
