I have a smaller one. Is there a time when this bigger one would be more handy? I needed the smaller one to cut drain pipe (pvc). Also for cutting shower metal door frames. Is there a time I'd want the bigger one? It's not any faster, is it?

So true. I thought it was just me that could never find my hacksaw. I think it's hard to find due to the infrequency of use and the fact that it's shape don't let it fit nicely in tool box drawers with out taking a ton of space. My dads has a dedicated spot it hangs on the wall of his garage I just don't have the wall space

Purchased this deal about a week ago or so and the saw came with no tensioner bolts / screws or whatever, so we had no way to connect the blade to the saw. We went through the reviews and for whatever reason that's a semi-common mishap that seems to be happening.

mine came in a similar condition. when i first unboxed it, it was missing both tensioners/bolts. but i found them both rattling around loose in the box. very strange way to ship these things.

Anyone know where this is made? My 50+ year old Craftsman USA-made hacksaw is still working well. At this price I could occasionally have use for a deeper frame but some of the comments make me think this may be made in China?
