I have this. The metal frame is sturdy, the paint hasn't chipped on it yet. The handle is adequate, but it never feels like I have a great grip position when using it. This takes standard blades; I slapped one from a cheap harbor freight 10 pack in easily after the stock blade wore out.

Get a Lenox one instead it's on sale for $23 if you need a hacksaw it's worth the extra money.

I mainly use mine to remove deer antlers with the cap of it's skull for mounting. I have used them in the past to cut pvc and other materials but since I've gotten older my toolbox has expanded with more appropriate tools.

Can you use this to cut wood? Or only metal/pvc?

Why I used a hacksaw just 5 days ago to cut a brass hose fitting in half. 'Course that 's the first time I 've used a hacksaw in over a year as I have angle grinders, chop saw, band saw, jig saws, acetylene torch, chain saws and recip saws all of which I'll use first if possible.

$8 versus $23 ? It's 200% better? Could buy x2 of these and still be under. $23

Might be a good t hacksaw to add to my toolbox. I have a regular saw and wonder if this would be better.

What's a "regular saw"?
