They're very lightweight, I keep some in the house as well just in case of emergencies. I thought about breaking one out recently when some issue caused our city water to turn brown..
This model seems to get discounted quite reliably to around this price on major retail holidays, like prime day or black Friday.

Not a good price. $10 at Walmart, online or B&M: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lifest...e/22209336
But the use model is that you lie on your belly in the mud next to a stream and suck through the straw. That's dumb. Get one that includes the backwash plunger, an adapter for a soda bottle, and a squeeze bag:

Personally, I use a gravity bag that filters more and faster without needing to hold it or squeeze it. Keep in mind you cannot drink from whatever you put the dirty water in so it is more to carry. I have this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHGXTCPJ
Get outside and good luck.

Also be aware these shouldn't freeze after using since the micro straws inside will crack and allow bad things through and there's no way to know it.
I'd recommend the sawyer mini for a few more bucks. MUCH better!
