everyone literally has a camera phone in thiere pocket now. I literally see no need for this but just by two sense.

Unless you are setting up your phone each time you drive to record continuously, then it's not apples to apples.

If you get into an accident and it's a case if he said she said, your dashcam recording can make a difference in who's at fault.

Too much inattentive drivers, insurance fraud etc that having a dashcam makes sense
