This is a great small charger. But keep in mind that prongs are not foldable, which makes it a bit less travel friendly compared to some other models.

Is it small enough to have side by side in a power strip? Same question for a power plug - can I have two connected in same outlet unit
Current one I have is a slightly larger one that wastes space and I can only connect one in place of two outlets

I think it's time to stop calling 20w a "fast" wall charger in 2025.

It depends on what metric you are looking for in a charger. The 20W 511 is in many ways the epitome of design. For someone who is looking for the lightest charger, like for long distance bikepacking/backpacking or lightest EDC digital nomad, at 1.1oz, nothing else comes close to it. Even most old school 5W chargers can't beat 1.1oz, at least not the ones you trust not to catch on fire.

Engineering is about tradeoffs. EVERY higher wattage charger weighs more than this. They inherently need beefier electronics, more complicated charging protocols, greater heatsink capability. A foldable plug is a mechanical failure point and requires a spring which is usually made of steel and incurs the weight of steel. If you need to protect or be protected from the plug, it's lighter to stuff the plug into a piece of packing foam. As the trend is towards higher wattage chargers, when they stop making this, you will never be able to buy a charger as light and capable as this again.

1.1 oz is so light, it completely changes the calculus of which battery bank to carry. If you need 20000 mAh, it's usually lighter and faster to use 2 of the lightest 10000 mAh banks + 2 Anker 511s to charge them simultaneously than it is to carry a 40W charger + 20000 mAh bank capable of 40W input.

The 30w PPS is 1.4 oz... so an extra 50% more power + PPS + foldable plug for a 0.3 oz "penalty"? If 0.3 oz matters that much to you, have at it, but I'll take something more advanced and eat one less grape to offset all that additional weight the next time I do the Tour de France! 20w chargers R.I.P.

My iPhone 13 pro max, 3 year old phone, charges at 9V x 3V = 27W. My 2021 iPad charges at 15V x 1.6A = 24W. My Lenovo laptop charges at 20V * 2.5A = 45W. This 20w charger is under powered for these devices, let alone any newer devices.

I think this might be a good fit for wireless charging pad at home, if they don't come with a charger. And if I'm travelling, I prefer saving my luggage weight for a 60+w charger.
