Ya, they are cast iron, but it will take off the polymerization layer if you hit it at too steep of an angle. The idea to scrape it (with any scraper) is to hold it at the right angle to 'shave' off whatevers on top and keep the polymerization (the 'seasoning' that gets built up by putting on oil and heating it). If you scrape it down to the iron, you need to get it oiled back up properly or it will rust and/or food will stick there real bad.

Check the item variants, 5 bucks more gets you a 30cm metal basting cover which is pretty good size and comes in handy if you have a griddle with no cooking cover.

now, there is a concern that they tried to convert 30cm (12 inches) into 18" in the graphic laugh out loud

Absolutely. I bought these same level of tools once. They're flimsy. You're much better off buying the Blackstone set from Costco mentioned above, or one from Walmart if a deal ever comes up again. You need high quality tools for griddling IMO.

Bought a 245 piece set from temu for 17.67. And it came with everything on this picture and more . Not really a great deal unless you really really want prime. Temu order came in within a week
