Looks great & at a great price.

Careful: Amazon has 9K reviews (not all for this router); most of the reviews i read in the 1star area are mis-reporting reviews; for other router models, listed under this router

BUT: there are some 1 Star review for this model calling out stability problems. Unless you love to being an early adopter & love Problem Determination: you might want to wait for Asus to rev the firmware a few times or until Merlin releases firmware. IMHO the Merlin firmware seems to be the most stable with ASUS routers

Wasn't a firmware recently released? Would like to see reviews with the new firmware before purchasing.

I don't know how recent the latest firmware is, but mine just got returned within the past two weeks. The firmware still wasn't stable as of the middle of this month.

Most notably it adds additional functionality such as the ability to setup Unbound or Diversion to increase your data privacy and block ads. There are many other advanced features and improvements that it adds as well as unlocking things on lower-end devices that are available on higher-end ones. It's a must for anyone using an Asus router.

I have had this router for 1 month. Originally had the problems with 1 of the CPU cores spiking to high utilization along with odd CPU therm errors in the log. 37504 firmware fixed those problems. I never had the rando rebooting problem other folks have been experiencing.

MLO seems to be causing some issues for some folks. I tried it. Everything ran fine while I had it on for a couple of hours. I'm getting better throughput with it off. I have run into 2 other minor bugs (1 GUI related and 1 Killer wireless NIC related.). Otherwise, the router has been running like a champ. I have had zero crashes since I purchased the device.

This router isn't in the list of routers that support VLANs. I found that odd since the older RT-AX86U Pro does. My guess is that while this RT-BE92U might have good wireless performance (or might not), it's internals aren't as good as some of the others. Meaning, I'd suspect that might be a bit more lacking on the software side. Just a thought, and nothing for certain.

This router does allow you to create a separate kids network and IoT network. For a typical home, this is all they need, right?
I have this router and it has been stable since I bought it.

My comment was less about VLANs specifically and more about the consideration that it may get fewer software "bells and whistles" as some other models. Missing feature "A" might indicate it will miss features "B" and "C" as well.

That being said, I'm guessing that for most people, what you are mentioning is all that's needed for when it comes to separate networks. I personally would like traditional VLAN support since I've got a little homelab as a hobby. But I don't have it today on my router, and I am getting by just fine.
