The version with a USB hub built in is very often cheaper than this for some reason. Currently it's a dollar more since the promo code doesn't work on it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V3PHKR8 but it can be had for $8ish if you can wait a few weeks tops

4K@60 in the era of 4K@120 feels like 4K@30 in the era of 4K@60
The market is filled with 4K@60 TVs though (that sometimes pretend to be 4K@120 "effective refresh rate" in the specs).

Check to make sure your device actually supports hdmi over usb-c first. I went through 3 different cables before finding out my stupid tablet didn't support it. Laptops should generally be ok, but phones and tablets are hit or miss.

Make sure your USB-C output supports DP Alt Mode. If it doesn't, this cable won't work and you will need to use a USB to HDMI adapter like Plugable makes

Many users remain cautious about refresh rates exceeding 60Hz. For those using a MacBook Pro without a docking station, I recommend the Capshi 8K USB-C to DisplayPort [amazon.com]or HDMI cable, available for $9. This setup has enabled me to achieve a 100Hz refresh rate with the recently discounted Dell S2725DS monitor, priced at $120. Keep in mind that your MacBook Pro must be connected to a power source when running two or more external monitors. If you experience screen flickering, a system reboot may help resolve the issue.

Interested to know the same for my Pixel 8. I can't cast bc I don't have Chromecast on my TV. Hoping something like this will allow me to mirror my screen.

It's not bidirectional. It's essentially DP alternate downsampling to an HDMI signal.

I don't know but my Edge+ from a couple years ago has that their own suite of tools that would include screen mirroring. I'd imagine you would have that too.

If you use this for an extra monitor on a laptop or desktop, these can be handy. As long as you are okay with the resolution, which most people probably would be.
If you are using these for phones/tablets, you should maybe consider something else.
I have had these types of devices for years, all the way back to my Samsung Galaxy S3.
The one thing I learned early on, get a device that will do what you want/need and also provides power.
While batteries have gotten better, and the phones/tablets have gotten better at run times, you are asking the phone/tablet to have a display on and send information to a second screen. You will find many times where you will be wanting to power/charge your phone/tablet but can not because you are using the port to send video.
