Anyone using this for work? Is the port HDMI 2.1 Does it support 4:4:4 chroma at 60hz.
The monitor supports 4:4:4 @60hz and at 120hz. I use the DP port, but the specs show HDMI 2.1 for both the HDMI and micro-HDMI ports.

Regarding burn-in, I've been using one of these for the past 1.5 years for 99% office work, 8+ hours a day of Word, Acrobat, etc. and haven't noticed any burn-in. I've been really happy with this monitor.

Ok, as someone who has worked in tech for decades, I still don't understand this monitor or the others like it. Yeah, it's a flex, but what good is it? The resolution is like having two QHD monitors, which might be OK for productivity but doesn't the width really hinder that by constantly having to turn your head side to side? Wouldn't most folks be better served by having more vertical real estate and less horizontal? I mean technically speaking, a single 4K display still gives you 12% more screen real estate. And for gaming, it takes nearly as much GPU to power this at playable frame rates as it would a 4K display, but do you even really see the parts of the screen at the far edges? And all of that is before you even get into the physical space requirements.

It just seems to occupy a really weird space to me, where it's more like a flex than a usable screen, and yet they seem quite popular. If I wanted something ultrawide but higher res than 3440x1440 I'd take 3840x1600 any day of the week over this. Unfortunately, it seems manufacturers have given up on that resolution in favor of these mega-wide monsters.

What am I missing? Is there something special that I haven't taken into account, or are these things the equivalent of 3D TVs?

One word: Immersion
Think like a sim racer, additionally there are sometimes tactical/gameplay advantages to being able to see more.

That's false. If you're working 8 hours a day and you have the taskbar up good luck avoiding burn in! Or if you are working in spreadsheets a lot same issue. I would avoid.

This one doesn't have as much of a curve like the original version. The 1000R curve was weird at first but just seemed to work out well for a screen of this size. I don't know about this one.

Does anyone know if this one has built in speakers, and if not, do any of the other Samsung 49" deals include built in speakers? Thanks!

What experience are you speaking from?
I have been using an oled CX for 4 years at this point for far more than 8 hours a day of work on a windows PC and gaming on top of that and have experienced no burn in whatsoever.

It can happen im sure, but its crazy how people fear monger about a minor issue.

People act like they will keep their same monitor for the rest of their lives. Technology is a consumable good, use it and move on.

Many monitors have burnin protection features that help with this. They may shift the pixels by 1 or even start a "clean up" while your pc sleeps.

Any blurry text or fuzziness? I see this 1800R. Any out there with 1000R curvature and high PPI and Resolution like this?

No blurriness whatsoever. I also have the original G9 which was 1000R, and there is a big noticeable difference between the two. After using the 1000R, the 1800R felt almost flat. Now that I've used it for awhile, I like the 1800R better in this size, the 1000R was almost too much curve.
I also just switched to full screen solid colors to check for any burn-in again and saw absolutely zero, even where the taskbar has been daily for 1.5 years.
I did buy the 57" during the BF sale which hasn't come yet. I did this mainly for the increased PPI over the 49". Now I have to figure out how to run it on an Apple M1 Ultra chip...
