The difference is natural sugar vs 2x being added

If you think any dried fruit (especially an extremely tart one naturally, so added sugar is almost necessary to consume) is going to be a low sugar (by weight) food...you are in for a rough time Wink

natural raisins [google.com] are 25 gr of sugar per 43 gr serving size.

There is nothing wrong with sugars or fats for that matter. Is the overindulgence that is caustic to your health.

I get this is America and overindulgence is a binary phenomenon. But please refrain from sugar witch hunts.

Did not know that was a thing. I thought the main products would be fully national.

For some reason I can't get the subscribe option to also deliver to the local Whole Foods pickup. Had to pay the full ride. Ouch.

I normally purchase the Ocean Spray Craisins "Whole" Dried Cranberries at either Costco or Sam's. Last year I also tried this Amazon subscribe/save Ocean Spray Craisins 3-lb deal. Be aware that the above Amazon OS Craisins deal is not "Whole" cranberries. The above product consists of mostly chopped/sliced and dried cranberry fragmented bits, which might not be a concern if you use primarily for baking add-ins, but if you use for cereal, snacking or the like, you might be disappointed if you're accustomed to the much larger whole cranberry.

Really? I didn't catch that. Looking at the pics, the few dried ones look whole. That's deceptive. Not sure I care, but I do use these in baking, stews, curries, hot cereal, and salads. Guess I'll see how they go.

Exactly! I often soak these in water or seltzer before eating. The flavored water makes a refreshing [very] low calorie drink. For maximum flavor extraction, steep in boiling water. When I do this in bulk, I save the rehydrated cranberries in the fridge. The cranberries are still sweet and flavorful, but with less sugar. If you drink the water and eat the cranberries simultaneously, this is obviously pointless since you're still eating the same amount of sugar. So consume them separately!
