In the past, I have seen some older devices have issues on the USB 3.0 ports, and work fine on the 2.0 ports

4k30 would be no deal, but if it is 4k60 as the new amazon description says this may be worth looking at

Has anyone ever seen a hub like this but with a much longer cable or replaceable cable? I'd like all this hidden under the desk and just a cable I can plug my laptop into.

They changed the chipset. I can ask and confirm since I'm best friends with the head product engineer over there. IIRC it went from AG9311 to AG9411 but not precisely sure on the new chipset.

Look under docking stations. Thats what they call them at work, but it's exactly as you described. Also has several different types of connections.
