Nice, but only 512GB SSD is a dealbreaker.

Pretty sure this model has an extra m.2 slot. Just slap a cheap 2tb in there.

Two m.2 slots and one DDR4 slot that supports a 32GB stick apparently.

> The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 GU603VI laptop comes with 16GB DDR4 onboard memory. The maximum memory capacity the device supports is 48GB and it has 1 additional memory slot for upgrade. As for storage, it features two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 slots for SSDs, each slot supports up to 4TB.

Does using a different size ram in the extra slot kill performance (like DDR)?

And battery life?

I don't think it will kill battery life, but the performance is a good question.

Is the on board 16GB in single channel mode, so if you install a 16GB in the SODIMM slot, it makes it dual channel?

Or is the on board 16GB already in dual channel mode and any memory you add to the SODIMM slot makes it run single channel?

you can run dual channel with 48gb of ram but it will be running at the slowest speed of both ram modules (on board and the sodimm). XMP will also not be supported with the mix type of modules. That being said this system only supports DDR4 also not DDR5 which is actually a benefit (not in the speed department but definitely for stability.) the Intel Core i7 13620H cpu is a decent cpu that will run well with a 48gb setup, and one of the few intel processors I would actually do this with(been doing it on AMD processors for a few years.)
