This is a really great deal at $350.

There is nothing else on the market at this price that will provide you with this many features to make a really good espresso.

I've had mine since 2022. I also have a Bambino for the office.

Bambino has no gauge and no PID for temp adjustment

Temp adjustment helps with extraction for medium to light roast coffee. ( Needs higher temp)

Having a gauge you can adjust the over pressure valve to reduce max pump pressure delivering a cleaner espresso. If you do the dimmer switch hack you can also use the gauge to play with variable pressure profiles.

Startup to heat time is a wash as both are relatively fast differing by less than a minute.

The group head on the infuser is heated which reduces cooling effect if you lock your portafilter in place while warming up. This is another variable that leads to more consistent espresso.

Infuser pre infusion is also more adjustable than the Bambino. Bambino is Max 10 seconds, while with the infuser you can go as long as you want in manual mode.

The last reason to get the infuser is it's overall size and weight. It still has a relatively small footprint, but when inserting the portafilter, having the extra size and weight is better. On the Bambino you gotta hold the top of the machine to snug the filter or else you'll lift the entire thing.

If you're thinking about getting into the rabbit hole of espresso coffee, this is a no brainer deal.
The Infuser has more precise temperature control, but weaker steaming power. If you consume more milk-based drinks, then the Bambino/Bambino Plus would be a better fit. However, if you prefer to drink straight espresso and dabble in specialty coffee that may require experimenting with temperature, the Infuser is the better option.

Thanks OP! I have been waiting for Bambino but pulled trigger on this one. In the item description, it says: Earn up to $200 cashback and receive two free bags of coffee beans when you purchase a selected Breville Espresso or Coffee machine. Valid Sep 18, 2024 until Dec 31, 2025.

If that is true, this will be a very sweet deal.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I also got the 3-yr protection for $40, so that I can play something crazy with a good sleep.

I just read that, I ended up pulling the trigger as well, wonder how to claim any cash back.
Seems like you get cash back on beans from a certain website after registering your Breville. For every $100 you spend on their beans, you get $25 back.. so not that slick, unfortunately!

Summary here: https://www.breville.com/us/en/le...20Works%22).

Infuser is the superior machine if you have a good espresso grinder to go with it, if you have an entry level grinder I would go for the Bambino, it is also less maintenance. (infuser has the solenoid that needs backflushing every now and then) I have pretty much every Breville machine except the "impress" series as I rebuild / repair them.

Advantage of Bambino is smaller footprint, the steaming is said to be negligibly better due to faster heat up time, but in practice I like the steaming on the infuser better.. I can not tell you why.

As for Bambino vs Bambino Plus.. if you have money for the Plus get it, superior in every way.

Even in manual steaming mode, the Plus's 4-hole head works leaps and bounds better than the Bambino or Infusers 1 hole.
I am looking at grinders now. DF64 is even more expensive than this unit. And it seems not many grinder deals around....

This is a fantastic machine. I've used it for the past 5 years, every day, without any issues so far (just regular maintenance). Latte tastes waaay better than starbucks, panera, and any other non-5*-restaurant place, both espresso and frothed milk are super creamy. I paid $400 (after kohls cash) and not once regretted it.

Looking at the roaster list and there's some very good options available: https://www.beanz.com/en-us/coffee/roasters

They carry a few of my favorites and if you're going to order beans why not get a few $$ back.

Turin DF54 or SK40 pair amazing with the infuser.

SK40 is conical burr which lends to a more viscous and robust espresso flavor

DF54 is flat burr and provides more clarity in exchange for less body.

Both under $225

Anybody know if this is the newer 9-bar version or the older 15bar version? Manufacture date says 2018 which makes me believe it's the older 15 bar

Can't vouch for this machine. Owned it a couple years and the plastic from the group head once you open and get past the metal filter via unscrewing had completely half melted. I'm annoyed I may have eaten all that plastic. I threw it out. PSA check yours if you own it!

Update: It's not just me, this is a common occurrence with no solution.

I don't mean to rag but the OXO is a horrible grinder. It basically grinds it into chips Opposed to being burred. The Splintery shape makes for uneven extraction And again it's chips not crushed. It does grind fast, even size chips but that's the problem. Unfortunately a real grinder start at 200 Bucks. Five hundred is a better starting place. I Have a $250 sette. It's almost good enough. The grinder is more important than the espresso machine. You won't get good coffee from OXO.

Good to know. I think you can get a better group head for it but that's more expense

I don't think it is replaceable, I'm talking the plastic behind the metal screen that you unscrew. When I asked them they just told me it's BPA free plastic and can't be replaced 🤦

If you can hold out until the Bambino Plus goes on sale again, that's probably the best bang for your buck.
Yes, Bambino Plus and DF54 or DF64 grinder is an excellent way to make espresso drinks.
