I don't know what makes this projector a gaming projector:

20ms is actually really slow for gaming
I don't see any mention of variable refresh rate
I don't see any mention of high refresh rate (eg. 120Hz)

The viewsonic PX748 is also pixel-shifted 4K. Native 4K projectors cost $4000+.

I have a Epson 2150 currently. Is this worth the upgrade or should I just wait for a 3k epson PJ to go on sale

I was considering BenQ HT3560 for 1,099 with 10% off code = $990 (https://www.benq.com/en-us/projec...t3560.html)

Should I pull a trigger on Epson instead? I plan on using it in the dark basement to mostly watch movies + occasional gaming.

I didn't know that, but it makes perfect sense. At least it is a helpful use of AI for consumers.

I would have loved this model at this price when I was shopping. I ended up with an Epson home cinema 3800 about a year ago and on paper this one has pretty competitive specs and the lens has similar zoom and throw. I have a very strange living room and those specs matter to give you flexibility to set up the projector in places, I would not count on the onboard android tv being a selling point, I doubt that will be stay updated for long or be very fast. Speakers on projectors are also usually pretty underwhelming.

I'm assuming with the Android dongle you can install PlayStation remote play on this? Anyone have experience with that?

After looking around a bit more, it seems this model would be a massive step up for an additional $90:

https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-...B096HBWRGT

ViewSonic (PX748-4K) 4K UHD Projector with 4000 Lumens 240 Hz 4.2ms HDR Support Auto Keystone Dual HDMI and USB-C for Home Theater Day and Night, Stream Netflix with Dongle
$989.99

It has real 4K resolution, not pixel-shifting 1080p, as the OP has listed with the $900 model.
