Not much of one. I bought 4000mhz for my 5800x a few years ago, but the fastest stable config I could manage was 1900/1900/1900 for the three clocks which works out to 3800 mhz on the RAM. I think that pretty much all of the AM4 chips will work with 3600mhz memory with no issue, but someone that concerned about squeezing every last bit of performance probably isn't going to buy a 5800x these days anyway.

For this price it's a pretty hot deal.

I originally owned the 3600x, sold it during COVID for the same prices I paid new, Buy the 5800x for $250, and 2 months later the 5800x3d was released. Now, I am waiting for USPS to deliver my last AM4 upgrade to 5700x3d.

Here is a quick reliable Games benchmark that can help you make a good decision.

Not sure how its a good deal if you can get 5700x3D for $155 any day on AliExpress.
That is exactly what I did last week. When I purchase it for 145-25coupon = 120 plus tax
Now just waiting for the CPU to arrive. It already cleared US customs and should get it by the end of this weekend depending on how fast USPS shorts/delivers the item.

Should I sell my 5700 (non g or x) and get this?
The short answer would be NO going from 5700 to 5800x.
No point minimum upgrade and it is a HOT CPU (5800x) even my 280mm AIO barely keeps up with it. Around ~75°C during gaming (Default setting with XMP enabled for the best stability)
But for gaming, yes I would sell the 5700 and buy the 5700x3d instead or 5600x3d. That would be the last sensible upgrade for this AM4 platform.

no. I have 3200mhz RAM on my 5900x and it's 100% fine. 3600mhz might be better but it's negligible
In most cases, it isn't very important.
But, the rule of thumb for AM4 is to get a 3600mhz kit with CL18 or lower if you can afford it. Because it has been proven to be the sweet spot for latency/prices/performance.

Get the 5700X3D if you're gaming and on AM4. It's similar to 9600X for that. Well worth the price.

It might matter on the X3D chips but it really doesn't matter on the regular chips.

DDR4 ram is super cheap right now anyways so if you're buying a ram not as part of a bundle, yea go for the 3600mhz at an extra 5 bucks but if you get it in a bundle like this, it's more than fine.

I have the same board and it rocks...think I paid $100 for it about 2 years ago. It has room for 2 NVME drives and a 3rd socket for a wireless wifi card. The same board with the the wifi card built in is actually $15 cheaper??? It is a great motherboard and I've been very happy with it but 1 thing...if you use the second NVME which is 3rd generation slot only 2 of the SATA drives are disabled. Only bad side to the board. But you can get an extension card with 4 more SATA ports for about $22 on Amazon. My 2 cents on a great mobo.

Shame that the bundled ram is only 3200mhz, will be a slight bottleneck for this CPU, right?
No. That's mostly fantasy. Nothing to worry about

Just sell it at a reasonable price and it will sell on eBay. Yesterday, I sold mine within 4 hrs of listing it for 126 + shipping (7). I saw some listings selling NEW tray CPUs for only $ 150 on eBay. So don't expect to sell for higher than that.

It's not, the RAM costs $57 so it puts the 5800x at $133, then add another $30 for a cooler (since it has no cooler) and now the 5800x jumps to $163 and the deal jumps to $220.The 5600x has dropped to $100 before and includes a cooler so better to wait for the 5600x price to drop or just buy it now since the 5600x comes with a cooler and you don't get any more gaming performance beyond a 5600x.
A $20 120mm cpu cooler outperforms the bundled coolers by a significant margin. I would prefer to go that route.

Most people who build computers themselves have a decent cooler sitting around it is one of those things you buy once and use forever

We have pretty similar paths. Started with a 3600 non X and upgraded to the 5800X just before the x3D was announced. Oof! I also just bought the 5700x3D but from the Newegg deal with the SSD. Didn't want to deal with China. Should be here Tuesday and my last upgrade to this PC unless I find a screaming deal to replace my 3200mhz ram. However, I understand the x3D chips aren't as sensitive to ram as the rest.

My 5800X always ran pretty cool. Decided to tinker with some OCing while I wait for the new chip and come to find out the auto OC I was running from my motherboard the past few years has been limiting it. Had a 14000 Cinebench score. Reset to stock I am at just under 15000. However, now it is bringing the heat. The auto tune I had was keeping it 20C cooler.
