So I just ordered it off of home depot. When i receive it do I just return the battery and charger to do the hack?

I think you may need to order each item separately. If you add them both to the same order, you get the same pricing as the bundle. But if you select the bundle, the receipt will show only one item.

Does your receipt show each item listed with an individual price? They have some listed as a bundle and those can't be returned separately, the one you're looking for is a buy one get one. You should have TWO separate items listed in your cart with two separate prices, if you only see one price you won't be able to separate & return one item.
If the items show separately but the store is telling you no, they are wrong. Some people have reported having an issue with certain stores telling them no. Easiest way I can see is go to another store.
