They originally had all kinds of features advertised for free with just longer cloud recording behind a paywall then they started removing some of the features. I'm on the free tier right now. Now it's a manual check which defeats the purpose. That and local video recording is clunky. It's there but usually won't identify any videos exist until you sit in the playback menu for several seconds and then it's not a great interface to play things back.
It's cheap but also it's cheap.

I'm currently transitioning from wyze to kasa/tapo cams....the 2k's were recently front page for $25 and currently around $27. Their version of the doorbell also has microsd..I have v1 of the doorbell which had no microsd card. The tapo have free person/pet/package detection but don't send an image with the notifications on the free tier...if I have to pick between person detection so I'm not flooded with notifications or notifications with an image which shows nothing 1/2 the time I'll go with free person detection..I can always browse the microsd the few times it detects a person. The "cam lite" from wyze is only good up to wyze cam 3 (and you have to be grandfathered in so new users it's not applicable)..not sure where this doorbell falls.
We have 20+ Wyze devices including robot vacuum. Happy with the hardware - company scammy about hiding the free motion detection nowadays.
But this new v2 doorbell has been needing a factory reset every 2-5 days (not difficult but frustrating). Go read the forums.
