I think you are confused about the purpose for Shokz BONE CONDUCTION sport buds for sport activities where you want/need to hear your environment. Bone conduction technology is different than hearing earbuds or bluetooth neckband speaker. Bone conduction won't put out the sound quality that earbuds put out. I won't wear my Shokz in the house or even in the gym. I don't want to hear the gym sounds. Not really for listening to audiobooks in the quiet comfort at home on your couch. The Monster Boomerang is a 3 watt portable neckband speaker. Not really made for jogging, exercise, biking, skateboarding where Shokz excels at for safely hearing outdoor sounds... I don't quite see the need for 3 watt Bluetooth neckband speakers because of versatile more powerful portable cheaper Bluetooth speakers and the high quality sound of earbuds/around the ear headphones. Shokz is a sport bone conduction headphone where you are moving around a lot with some sport activity. I wouldn't compare my Samsung/JBL buds or my JBL around the ear headphones with Shokz because their purpose are different. Sure I can move around and exercise with my Samsung earbuds but no way would I ever ride a bike with them. Dangerous.
As someone that runs 4-5 days a week, I bought these when they were Aeroplex (or something), and I swear by these. The Pro has a little less water resistance than the regular openrun, but these headphones are the best for running.
These would be great. Allows you to listen to music but also listening for cues for safety.

Eyyyy! The deal is back! I know a lot of people have been waiting for this one. Esp those who weren't able to get in on the recent Verizon deal.

Rolled the dice last time this BBY deal was posted. Zero regrets. I use these all the time. Work, gym, housework, etc.

Sounds quality is obviously lower than "pro" model buds/pods, but they're still good quality paired with the ability to clearly hear your surroundings or nearby people while these are on is worth the trade-off.

I don't run, but can presume these provide runners a significant safety feature and great comfort for longer runs.

I use it for my biking, scooter and longboard/skateboard. Absolutely worth it. I would never ever use regular earbuds with those activities on the roads because it is way too dangerous with the cars. You gotta be able to hear the outdoor environment to be safer. It definitely makes my longboard commute more enjoyable because I don't want to carry a portable Bluetooth speaker..... I have the regular and the PRO.

Honestly wanted to like these, but I returned them. The sound on them is mediocre at best, and you have to really crank the volume past the safe mark for that. The fit is okay but, if you wear glasses, they will really start to irritate after about an hour or so. I was looking for something primarily for audiobooks (I don't love earbuds or over-ear large headphones) that would be a better option than my Monster Boomerang neck speaker, but these are worse on every front, especially sound.

Customer service and warranty (2yr) on these is great.

But EVERY PAIR of these I've had has failed within a year to 18 months. All failed the same way with an internal speaker coming loose and creating a buzzing/ringing sound.

I use them for running, so am assuming it's associated with the repetitive impact associated with that. But my wife uses for walking, and they failed the same way.

So, with a 2yr. warranty you can expect to get 2-3yrs total from the original and replacement pair, so not a bad deal I suppose for $99.

Still, over the last 4 yrs or so since bought a pair each for my wife and I, you'd think they would fix what appears to be an obvious design flaw, as all four pairs, (the original and replacements) have failed.

I use mine for weightlifting (as well as running and biking). I think they're great. Sound quality will not be as good as the AirPods (obviously), but they're good enough for me. Every now and then they'll hit on the bench when putting your head down, but I've never had them fall off in that scenario - you really have to catch them on something for them to come off.

I got the Sony linkbuds for running and they've been great. They are small and have a battery that lasts only an hour, but they are open-ear (they have a hole in the speaker). It's just an alternative, in case these don't work for you. There are only a few truly safe running Bluetooth options.

I don't run, but I walk a reactive dog and need to be aware of my surroundings. I can casually listen to audiobooks while I walk him and still hear people/dogs approaching.

I was waiting for this deal to come back and impatiently bought the OpenSwim Pros. Older technology but waterproof. With the lower IP rating on the Pros it just made me worry too much after reading about how many fail within a real short period. I did a 5k in the yesterday and the sound was fine for it. Just fine, not "good". The extra bass on the OpenRun Pros was too much when I tested them and did not care for the vibration.

I think this is a great deal if you are very active and don't plan on soaking them but if you want something similar for working or dog walking I highly suggest you look at air conduction which I've found to be much cheaper, much better sounding, but less durable.

I use them for indoor riding with Zwift. they are great for not overheating but the sound quality is not good. i don't see any difference between these and the lowest model shokx has.
