I can't even keep up...WTH is a i7-150U? Based on benchmarks seems to be pretty close to a i7 1355U. Is that the replacement line / nomenclature?

My issue with the screen is the 16:9 ratio. I think 300 nits is good enough (but barely).

I know y'all will think I am crazy but I would almost rather have the Ryzen 5 version with 16:10 screen for the same price. It's also a little lighter (3.0 vs 3.3 lbs).

150U is Raptorlake. Which I thought I'd read was before Meteorlake.
However this chip has a launch date of Q1 2024 which is the same as Meteorlake.
Or maybe the Meteorlake chips are all marketed as Core Ultra 3/5/7. While Raptorlake is still with the i naming?

How would this be for incoming college freshman business major, so mainly Microsoft Office and web browsing (he has PS5 for games he likes to play)? I bought this last night when it was still $600 and it seems to check all the boxes recommended by the university (16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, WiFi 6). He's been using a crappy, tiny Chromebook for the last 6 years through middle school and high school so I think anything would be an upgrade but would like some level of future-proofing, but also looking to stay under $1,000 all in. It seems like I'm always a day or two late to the really good deals so decided to buy this since it was available. Coming from a non-techy family, I'm still using my 12+ year old Dell desktop for home office work and have a 5+ year old laptop from work so any feedback would be appreciated.

Way more than enough power for a business major. I was using a 4 year old laptop for my MBA program in 2017, even doing complex Excel spreadsheets and Python data analysis beyond what most undergrad business majors will do today, and it was more than enough. This machine will carry him through any "business" usage he can throw at it just fine. The biggest issue might be screen brightness if he wants to work outdoors in bright light a lot, otherwise it will be just fine at ~300 nits.
