I have had these. The rivets are weak. They corrode and render tongs useless after 6 months. You would be better off with ones that use steel rivets.

I have the 7" version of these. They are excellent quality tongs, but more functional than pretty.

That is all that is needed for. It intended uses. Function over fashion.

Like all tongs, these must be clicked together 3X before each use.

maybe look for the ones with silicone coating on the handle that is made from a single piece of steel, no rivets, no springs, minimal chances of rust. I paid twice the price over something like this but at $4 vs $2 it's worth the jump. I mean it is only $2 more. It's also easier to clean as there aren't deep grooves or recesses for things to get stuck in.

Here is an example of the one I bought. So far I really like it.

wow so it looks quite expensive on Amazon. when I bought mine at smart and final I paid about $10 total for a 9.5inch and 12inch one piece tongs with silicone handle.

Seems like this is normal price for these unless they really are heavy duty, heck locking ones are a buck at Walmart Expert Grill 8.5"Stainless Steel Locking Mini Grill Tongs ,Silver,Suitable Handle https://www.walmart.com/ip/1956612342

So the weak rivets probably won't mix well with a dishwasher. Will pass.
