Heavy Rain doesn't really work on steam deck - the controls are super wonky. There is a workaround, but basically you have to hold the deck parallel to the ground (instead of perpendicular) to get the gyro to work. Just fyi for you steam deck'ers

You can use sc-controller. Add it as a shortcut in Steam, and in game mode enable it before you play. It'll recognize it as an Xbox controller instead of a Steam Controller. Just need to download the pre-release version with Steam deck support
I've always described Heavy Rain as a game that everybody should play for the experience. But that doesn't make it a good game.
I still stand by that opinion all these years later. I mean, they arrogantly touted that their story was so much better than any other game...so shouldn't the story make sense? Not have loopholes and gaps? I even played it where scenes got mixed up and lines were said that didn't happen yet.
Detroit Become Human is the best interactive movie type game by a country mile and one of my favorite games of last generation. Heavy Rain I think was great for the time but probably won't hit as hard if you don't have nostalgia for the game since the genre has come much farther since the PS3 days. I still think it's a decent game though. Detroit Become Human >>> Heavy Rain > Beyond Two Souls.
