The one in your link is NX.KSJSP.001 and one in this deal is NX.KSJAA.004, the spec sheet for which is here: https://www.acer.com/us-en/suppor...04/details where, in the product description, it's clearly mentioned this has a TN panel.
Not worth it at all at this price.
The MC deal for $40 more is much better if you have one near you.
Honestly, I don't really know what "cores" are. Otherwise, both laptop specs feel suitable for my needs, nothing overly high power but something I hope to use for a number of years.

Considering that there are less than 30 locations across the entire country and MC refuses to ship anything decent, those deals mean nothing for 80% of Slickdealers.
1. This model does support USB-C Charging per Acer. https://global-download.acer.c
2. Your model does NOT have better graphics (lmao). Newer, sure, but definitely slower, as your model sports 2 RDNA2 CUs vs this model's 8 Vega CUs. Not like these iGPUs are going to be doing anything substantial, but those 8 Vega CUs are going to be noticeably faster in the few ancient games that will run on it. https://www.notebookche
3. Faster RAM is not going to translate to an appreciable difference in most scenarios. For this segment and use case, Capacity is king. And, this model appears to have upgradeable RAM, unlike yours which definitely does not.
4. Double the CPU cores with this model compared to yours. Double! Quad cores are pretty much dead in 2024, except for toddlers or senior citizens. I can't imagine spending $400 and getting less than 6 cores.
5. 512GB SSD isn't anemic by any standard. You'd have more of an argument if it was 256GB. But even then, take the money you save and upgrade if you want.
6. There's no budget-grade IPS screen at this price point that would be worth sacrificing so much future-proofing for. But if it's such a deal breaker, put the savings towards a screen upgrade.

So hard with the million versions of Acer 3 to easily google reviews since every site seems to be different and walmart.com seems to only have 10 reviews which all seem to be sus.
Before that, all you had was unicode text or binary/hex core dumps on green bar paper!
There are good TN panels, but none on laptops, they are all on monitors. TN monitors do not have terrible 2º of vertical viewing angles, they are usually in the range of ~20º, which is still bad compared to IPS, but it is enough to severely diminish the impact of gamma shift. A bad TN laptop screen can't even show the same shade of black on all sides, usually they can't even show black because the contrast is so poor, they show a light gray color instead. Another myth is that TN screens have good response times which is objectively false as these cheap laptop TN screens have response times in the range of 30, 40 ms, if not higher.
This is what a good laptop TN screen (ThinkPad W520, from 2011) looks like: https://i.imgur.com/Jdg2gsU.png
And this is what a horrible TN screen looks like (Acer Aspire 3, 2023): https://i.imgur.com/K7cJYiH.png
