I have this opener from years back. It is solid and feels sturdy compared to the cheapo ones I had before it. Good deal if you're looking to complete your kitchen gadget drawer

Yes not all can openers and cans are the same.
Growing up mom had an electric but I prefer a manual.

I wash and dry it each time and this POS rusted in the crevices of the blade and gear. I would not buy it again. Any recommendations for a good can opener that won't rust?

I have this one and I wouldn't recommend it. It looks nice and is comfortable, but it is not great at opening cans.

I have a very similar Kitchen Aid opener and while it looks great and opens cans really well compared to the cheap, flimsy ones, it does rust very easily around the pivots and makes it really stiff.

This can opener won't last. I bought it a couple years ago and it only lasted a year before it stopped cutting cans. Get this one instead: https://a.co/d/aonZp9t

That one is showing some rust but it still works flawlessly. I personally know other perlite who bought the KitchenAid can opener but it failed quickly for all of them.
