Reminder to check your library - many have seeds for free!!
Sorting by most recent reviews, it seems very mixed. Lots of 1 star saying they could be old seeds and didn't sprout at all. Could be a gamble.

$17 worth of seeds + water + time = 50 cents worth of fruits and vegetables
Where are you shopping that you can get any non-trivial amount of fruits and vegetables for 50 cents? Please share link or address, I think many people would be interested in such a slick deal.

Every seed sold to you is non-GMO. It's illegal to sell GMO seeds to anyone other than licensed farmers.
This is not even remotely true.

Just being GMO doesn't mean the modifications are under IP protections. Many GMO seeds are, but not all, not even close.

Fakespot is not nearly as accurate as it was years ago - the fakers got better at faking, Fakespot had to turn up the sensitivity on their algorithms too much, and now it gives a lot of false positives. Hopefully fake-detecting tech will some day catch up to faking tech again.

To be fair to the original poster, it's only been on sale to consumers since last Saturday (according to the internet), so it's understandable not knowing about it - up until 8 days ago their statement was totally correct. Smilie

I just buy my seeds at The Dollar Tree. 25 cents per pack.
How's the germination rate on Dollar Tree seeds?

Please read what I actually said. Before last week with that insanely priced purple thing there were no GMOs sold to costumers. Also still no GMOs sold on Amazon, Walmart, Target or any other in person store.

Depends on the package, for 25 cents it's worth the risk. I however bought a pack of watermelon seeds last year and there were no seeds in the package.

I haven't had any issues with them. I've started multiple variations of cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, peppers, turnips. carrots, marigolds, sunflowers, sage, peppermint, catnip, thyme, spearmint, and a few other varieties of flowers. My cucumbers were germinating in about 4 days, and everything else was as you would expect from any other brand.

I've been gardening for over 20 years. The dollar store seeds (that used to also be sold at Walmart too) are just as good, in general, as anyone else. Selection is limited, especially if you don't buy early, and the amount of some seeds are ridiculously small (in which case you're better off buying elsewhere), but I definitely use some of their seeds every year. I haven't had much luck with their "wildflower" mixes -- they seem more chaff than seed. Good luck! I wish everyone would grow something, even if it's just a pepper plant in a pot on your balcony.

This seems like a great deal for Non GMO!
Too bad World Economic Forum is succeeding in me being happy as a renter, and therefore I have no backyard, and I didn't pay attention to my grandma teaching me how to farm naturally. I'm a lost cause and currently failing my ancestors in being self sufficient.
No time like the present to remedy! Check out thesurvivalpodcast and search - plenty of great info on hydroponics and small-space/indoor gardening for literally everyone.
