Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

Never Metro again. Their coverage sucks even in a major city. Their 5G is slower 3G. I have no problem with Cricket whatsoever.

Um, not that I'm aware. I referred to "these phones", as in, the *two phones in OP's post.

edit: *The only two phones that were listed in OP's post, originally.

When I used my Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 during the free month of service when I bought it using a similar deal last year, Metro's network was extremely fast. As usual for any network, the speed will vary based on your location and even the time of day, with location usually being the biggest factor.

People who crap on a specific network seem to think that their experience in their location typifies everyone's experience, everywhere and that's just not how major networks work.
