You just don't like dark roasted coffee. Verona doesn't taste burnt at all.

If you don't have a bunch of teenagers boiling the coffee and setting it in reheating carafes then it tastes just fine. Verona is actually the perfect roast for a deep, bold reusable keurig cup. I'm more moderate with Pike's Place, but it's WORLDS better in your own pot at home. If you boil the water, any coffee will burn (212ºF vs 193ºF), so make sure you aren't using boiling water and that your coffee pot carafe heater isn't COOKING the coffee even more.
