No that was the striped series not the Eruption versions which have non-locking trem
I bought that Floyd Rose version in the link and it's a great guitar. The difference is that the 78 Eruption in today's deal is closer (but still not identical) to how Ed's Frankie was at the time. It's got a different trem, different neck & different headstock to the FR-equipped Striped Series but at the end of the day it's still just a slightly more faithful version of the original than the Striped series in the link..
I do not even care how good or bad of a deal this is. It's a F**KING black and white Frankenstrat!!!!!! I miss the King EVH.

Yep I got a bumblebee striped series and it's a great guitar!
The Eruption version also has lacquer finish and reliced hardware in addition to what you listed. It wasn't worth it at full price, but at this price it's tempting!

Thanks for that, I knew there was more! If I hadn't already bought the other B&W then I'd have been kind of tempted by this too, though I'm not really a fan of the bigger Strat headstocks. But as you say, this is a very tempting deal compared to MSRP!

Nothing like Eddie Van Halen's birthday as pretext to sell more stuff in his name, may he rest in peace.

I really want the red and white striped series. The fender trem on this without locking tuners will be very frustrating to keep in tune when dive bombing. Unless they are locking tuners and they don't mention it. I've never had a trem set up as non-floating, obviously this was one of Eddie's requirements. Only downside (for me anyway) is you can't play the solo to Night Rangers Don't tell me you love me since you can't "pluck" a non-floating trem. Not that I could ever play it right anyway, Brad Gillis is another one of my childhood guitar heroes.
