I picked up a number of Tsunodas on a recent trip to Asia. As expected of made in Japan tools, the quality, fit and finish is top notch. I used to try to buy German hand tools when the price is within 20% of its American branded made in PRC counterparts, but now that Japanese brands that are made in Japan have slowly trickled into the US market at retail prices the same or lower than offshored domestics, I don't have to wait for an SD alert to pull the trigger.

In terms of this deal, I sort of like the WC-200's spring mechanism better. I don't see that telescoping steel sheathed style too often. The Knipex mini cobolt cutters have it.

I think you're joking, but... no. my quick read is not for the one you linked. Your link shows a 8mm cable and these are rated to 3mm stainless.

I was curious so quick searching you'd need something like this which is rated to 1/2" (~12mm): https://www.amazon.com/Tsunoda-WC-450-Wire-Cutter-Steel/dp/B002RDDM58/ [amazon.com]
I assume you are joking too.

The best solution to those types of bike locks is a bottle of 'pass out' juice. Then you just effortlessly take the key and open the lock without any damage.

It's all influencing and the influenced.

This is slightly above normal price, and how many people here could possibly actually need one of these anyway? But it's +20 right now because OMG it's Japanese!
I don't know what regular price on these are, but japanese metals are Usually significantly superior, and most of america still hasn't figured out the availability and usfulness of good blades. That said, there are good quality blades popping up everywhere, though still tons of crappy choices too.

This thing looks perfect for cutting guitar strings. I'm going to get one and see.

A mini bolt cutter will do the job too?
Depending on what you need. For me, the bolt cutter does not provide as a clean of a cut as this type of cutter.

Bit on the small side, brake cable housing is usually something like 6-10mm depending on whether you're talking bicycle or motorcycle.

I own the Knipex version of these and they're excellent cutters (precise and clean) for any bike cables - derailleur or brake.
