In any case, they are definitely pricier than the alternative xr batteries which are still good performers and may fit people's budget better.

edit: that deal is dead now but I'd still go with the other for frequent or heavy use.

If you don't need the bonus tools, you can also add two 1/2 impact wrenches to the HD kit and then return them and keep the kit for only $190.20 + tax. I didn't even need the circular saw and sold it on ebay cutting the price by another $100.

in regards to the 5ah PS, it will perform about the same as a regular 5ah XR battery on most tools. but on something like 7" saws, on the dcf900 1/2" impact, the difference is actually insane. you'll get an extra 100+ ft lb tightening torque with the PS on a DCF900
the 5ah powerstack is about equivalent in output to the 6ah XR battery, but at half the volume and weight. also, the powerstack use stack lithium pouches which can take at least twice as many charge cycles before going bad
as far as your DRM claim, what the hell does that mean? are you trying to attach these to some other brand? have you tried rubbing your 2 brain cells a little and maybe considered it's the OTHER brand that plays DRM shenanigans? Milwaukee has two data pins on their batteries. if the tool doesn't get a reading from them, the TOOL limits the power draw. not the battery. Ryobi does the same with their "HP" tools.
