I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.

Yeah, I know USPS is showing it in their system but Assurant appears to have some sort of deal with them and is the reason for their congestion. People here even report Assurant system processing their devices without USPS or the Assurant system showing as delivered. I suspect Assurant just get so many packages that it causes congestion getting it to their facility from USPS. Why I call it illegitimate is that their system should not penalize the customer for their logistical issues if the customer shipped the package on time and it is just sitting there at the destination waiting for them to process it, especially when Spectrum is only giving a 14 day return window from order date.
Let's assume they received 2000 phones, do you think that will congest their system. Not at all because that facility is supposed to receive such amount of phones. Let's wait and watch

Plus, you get instant credit if you do it in store . If they have it in stock.
For instant credit, does it show up as credit on your account, or it is deducted from the phone payment right away?

In other parts of this thread people said IMEI does not matter. They probably check the IMEI to make sure it is not flagged but I have seen some people say they have entered random IMEI and it was still approved. So no guarantee since I do not have first hand experience but I think odds are in your favor it will be okay.

Mine has the same screw up. I called, and the agent submitted a ticket. She said it is important to place the two orders on the same day, and that is what I did.
Let me know if the ticket fixes your issue.

My point is that they should use shipping date as the measure for when a customer sends in a device and not the receive date if they cannot logistically handle the inflow of devices. They provide the shipping label but the deadline is based on their receive date, which is the part of it that I think is illegitimate. The only thing that the customer can control is when they print the label and hand to USPS, anything else should not fall on the customer in terms of transit and deadlines. This is especially true considering people have said that some have had their devices processed by Assurant without the delivery scan, meaning USPS is not properly updating the system with all deliveries.

- Selected S24+ 256GB model for 999.99$
- Traded in Xiomi A1 old international phone* .. valuated to 7$
- $999.99 + 75$ (local sales tax) - $700 (Trade in Discount) -$7 +$20 (new line activation fee) = $387.99 is the total price charged to credit card.

Points noted:
*yes, it seems any brand phone is acceptable at stores. Since he couldn't select this company, he randomly chose some cheaper Samsung phone model name but entered this Xiaomi IMEI number.\
He collected trade-in the phone then there itself. When I asked a question if the brand mismatch would violate trade-in, he said not to worry as my $700 has already been redeemed.

He said locked (to any carrier) phone is not a problem.
Also it seems mostly, Stores will get only the base storage pieces ( S24-128GB S24+ - 256 GB etc.) in stock due to high online demand for higher memory pieces.

Hope this information is helpful.

has anyone received the trade in credit so far, I shipped my old phone and they got it 1/26 since that no update yet.
I have both my credits and refunded to my card already. Mailed phones at Post Office 1/20 and 1/22 from Michigan.

edit to add: my S24's were delivered this week.
