FYI, it was $529 before Thanksgiving. If you can hold and wait 😁
the Pioneer is a better model. it has more power and a full set of pre-outs, so that extra cost is pretty small to be able to have that amplifier expandability later on if you need it.
Only thing stopping most from jumping on this is the lack of pre-outs. Big issue long term as you can't just juice it up with external amps.

This has Dirac live. And much cheaper. This or Denon X3800?

If you're main priority is Dirac, keep in mind you still have to purchase Dirac Live with the 3800.
On the other hand the 3800 will offer the other half of Dirac DLBC this coming year.

Here is feature comparison of both.

I bought at the $629 price. Curious if I get a price adjustment now will they price adjust again if it drops to $529 again?

I know there are better forums to ask this, but how are they getting THX certification in a 22 lb receiver with class AB amplifiers? How is the power supply so light but still able to meet THX required output?

I imagine it's because it's THX Select certified and not Ultra or Dominus, so held to a lower standard. The output standard for instance is only required for peak, not continuous output as with the other standards.

I don't know all the details of the varying levels of certs of the top of my head though, so maybe someone else can chime in.

I have a similar model & I was wondering how to hook up a fire stick to this - so we can listen on our surround sound instead of directly plugging it to the TV. Can this be done? If so, how? TIA….

Plug it into a HDMI in the back and assign the input per the manual.
