I prefer the Plus version of these, as they have double the protein (30g) for the same amount of carbs.

These are perfect to make sure my elderly mother is getting protein, plus I'll grab one in the morning if I'm in a hurry and toss it in a to go cup with a couple of espresso shots.

So why do people freak out over seed oils now? Genuinely curious. Don't we use them for cooking, etc?

IMO, seed oils are just a recent target of the crowd that is always looking for the next nutritional "villain."

Real world studies (not petri dish studies) indicate that if you keep your overall caloric intake at maintenance or below and you are not consuming seed oils that are reheated multiple times (e.g., fast food fries), then there are no risks with seed oils.

IMO, the demonization of seed oils is the result of perceiving correlation as causation: our highest caloric foods (pretty much anything deep fried) contain seed oils. So people assume it's the seed oils that cause cancer, inflammation, heart disease, etc when it's highly likely it's being overweight/obese that raises those risks.

To be clear, mono saturated and omega 3 fats are still the healthiest choice, but seed oils are still going to be superior to saturated fats.

Because the factories use the lowest bidder of ingredients and not the cold pressed fresh oils you buy yourself…. This is why you have to be careful with ingredients.

Agreed.

While many of us would disagree on whether seed oils are bad for you, I think it's safe to say nearly everyone would agree that seed oils do not positively impact one's health since the nutrients are typically stripped out of them during the manufacturing process.
