Why is this not gaining traction? Is this not a good deal?

You can get the i7 version same GPU 3050 with 6GB ram so performance wise it should be intentional. But this one does have a 120 hz amoled vs the 60hz on the i7 mode but that high refresh rate is also a battery killer. My pick would be the i7 model for $749

I would agree with the i7 sentiments but after looking at both models in the store, the i7/1080p version has a very grainy screen. The i9 with the higher res display looks significantly better. And also, the 3050 6GB part has a 96-bit instead of the usual 128-bit memory bus in both models, so while DLSS could help, and the fast response time of the screen will feel better than an inferior display, gaming is not going to be on par with a normal 3050.

I pulled the trigger on a similar deal a few months back, but returned it because I couldn't handle the lack of touchscreen. I know touchscreens aren't popular with some folks, but I've gotten too used to it at this point to forgo it. Whenever I used it as a laptop, I found myself reaching out for the screen every few minutes and having a moment of sad before realizing I had to use the touchpad.

Just buy the i7 model, same GPU and better battery life.
