Nope. The pouty Apple Corporation naturally locked down USB 4.0/Thunderbolt backward compatibility, but in the sane/open Windows universe, motherboards across-the-board are making those ports backward compatible with 2x2. It's right there in Intel's chipset.

Perhaps you missed it, but my post specifies two times that I am speaking about Mac compatibility.
You wrote, "USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4 also do not natively include USB 3.2 2x2 support."
Literally. You wrote that.
The second word in that sentence is "Mac."
Also, the statement is independently true. The USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4 standards do not require/support natively USB 3.2 2x2. You can read the certification requirements if you like.

This is hilarious. Now you're planting your flag on, "USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4 standards do not...support natively USB 3.2 2x2"
And every Windows motherboard I can find using the USB4 chipset, uses the same chipset to support 3.2 2x2. You're a Mac disciple, and it has consequences. Just live with it.

I won't waste my time proving the opposite to you, but the first hit I found in a second was https://www.datapro.net/techinfo/...d_faq.html
