I have this exact pack and am currently using it abroad. I like it. It's not as good as a comparable Osprey, but pretty close and 1/4 the price.

I used this to travel to Europe for a month on planes, buses, trains and even water taxis. I bought it for $50 at the time. It's worth it, no issues whatsoever.

I bought the 40L and the 50L and compared them both. Returned the 50L. Too big for me. I'm male, 5'10" and 150 pounds.
40L fits on overhead train/subway shelf easily. Also in small overhead airplane bin (the one not big enough for rollaboard carryon).
This trip, for the first time I decided I would do laundry at the halfway point, so I could bring less. Total game changer. And I've been traveling for 30 years.

I'm the same size as you. I was traveling with a huge bag before but I realized no matter the size, I would stuff it full. Which means the larger the backpack, the heavier and more annoying it was.
40L seems like a good compromise.
The only issue is when I need to bring a suit and dress shoes :/

I have this bag and love it. I bought a number of backpacks to compare and loved this for the way it opened up all the way and fit so much, while it was the cheapest of the 8 bags I compared it to. Very worth it!

Looks to be basically the same as the 40L Matein Travel pack I got for 20 or something on Prime Day. It's nearly perfect, but I thought it had a laptop pouch. It does not. Would've been perfect, otherwise.
