But I found the higher spec (this thread) for another $40 is totally worthwhile. I placed order with Amex offer and CB, ~$650 out of pocket, super slick.

I think that one only has 8GB of soldered RAM with one slot open. So max 24GB
Any decent Labor Day deals on Lenovo desktops? I am looking for a non-gaming but a high performance desktop (4k transcoding, photo/video editing) under $1000.
Looking to replace a 5 year old Thinkpad with this for work. Run MS office not video editing software. Since it is a gaming PC is this a bad pick for my intended use?

American Express is a credit card. Currently offering 100 off 500 purchase on Lenovo website. You need to activate it to get the deal. It's targeted so not everyone will get it on their card.
Not hating on the deal but isn't this Lenovo 82XW0011US an objectively better deal with a much faster processor and apples to apples otherwise laptop for $70 less? Only 8gb of ram but that is a $25 problem. Just want to make sure I am not missing something before ordering.

Thanks for sharing your break down. Unfortunately, I don't have AMX but still got the $50 + CB (SD 2.5%) so I'm happy with my purchase. At checkout was $879 - $50 (code) = $829 + $77 tax = $906
LMK if I missed something

I know it supports higher RAM, but 8+8 dual channel looks good to me.
