Just the fact it has 2 DIMM slots and *1* 8gb stick in there (leaving one open) tells you that you should go ahead and grab an additional 8gb stick for 16gb RAM total (DDR4, 3200Mhz). A surprising, but welcome, move by HP.
Looking at the Q&A section though, it's hard to tell if it supports charging the laptop over USB-C (via a dock, etc), so you should expect to use the included power brick unless someone else has first-hand experience.
But, tacking on another ~$100 puts this build >$700.

The lowest I seen 3050 laptops is $580 on Newegg, $650 Amazon Prime Day. Worth a look to compare.

The screen is OKAY but it's definitely annoying to use when I have my blinds open during mid-day. The speakers are also not very loud at all. In my opinion the volume level is more of an annoyance than the brightness of the screen.
