this is completely false. I have been using Greenworks mower and snowblower for the last 4 years. Wait for the battery to cool down before you charge them. I haven't replaced any batteries yet.

You can run this mower for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes of runtime in self propelled mode, I have lawn area of ~6000 sqft

I live in South Texas where it is hot and humid 10 months of the year. I use to keep all my tool batteries in my unconditioned garage, and because of that, they only lasted about one year. I'm a little smarter now about battery health and now keep all my batteries inside my air-conditioned house when not being used where they have remained strong and are lasting many years longer.

I think so. It only has one battery. There is one with two 4Ah batteries for $100 more ($400):

After reading the reviews of the battery used, I think I'll pass. It takes to 2 batteries and only lasts one season before they start not holding a charge. Cost of a new battery is $149, so thats $300 every year since it takes 2. At that price you might as well buy a new lawn mower every year.
I loved my last Black and Decker lawn mower. The battery lasted 5 years on it, but by the time I needed to replace the battery they no longer made the batteries and generics did not work good. So I'm left with a great working lawnmower but no way to use it,
I would love to find a another battery self propelled lawn mower that used batteries that had a long life span.

Thankyou for your advice. It would be more helpful if people that wrote bad reviews would also state how they cared for the battery.

Do you need to use both batteries at the same time to use the self propelled mode or can you just use 1 battery and still use the self propelled mode?

I had it for almost 2 years now, run perfectly with 1 battery about 45 minutes propelled mode.
