I had these... Lost them but still had the case after so I've been planning on either buying just the buds or a replacement set. The sound was just okay but they fit perfectly in my ears and that's a hard find for me. I got the Soundcore Space A40 for 54.99 and I'm blown how much better they are! Given the choice it's not even close! Get those. Mind you I also had the liberty 3 pros and was not as impressed as many were with them.

I got these for free with my Pixel 6a. This isn't really a deal on them, they miss a lot of features that other earbuds have in the similar price bracket. No hear-through mode or ANC. The audio is OK. The microphone is fine but does not block out background noise very well, I gave the pair to my SO and every so often I can't hear her over the sound of other people talking, road nose, etc. and I tell them to switch to their phone earpiece. I assume the Pixel Buds Pro are much better.

I find my Jabra 75t have more features, sound better, and have a better mic. You can get them refurbished from Jabra from time to time for $50-80.

My family has also switched to Anker Soundcores (Life P3i and Life Note 3 XR) from various AirPod models. The Soundcores are the best-sounding earbuds I remember ever owning. One pair had an issue, and their customer service sent me a new pair quickly and with little hassle. As each pair of AirPods died (there were many), I wasted time with Genius bar appointments only to hear I needed to buy a new pair (standard Apple reply). I give full credit to the Slickdeals community for turning me on to Soundcore headphones.

I paid $100 for these when they were released..... everyone on sd claims something isn't a deal unless it's free.

I will say though they sounded much better and clearer before they recently updated them with a default sound that is bass heavy and muffled. Add to that they have really low mad volume.

and I've had mine replaced about 4x now bc the case drains when just sitting in my bag not being used. If you ask the question do they sound better than your favorite earbuds the answer is def not (especially after the update)

also I'll add that your assumption about the pixel buds pro is wrong. I own them and they sound almost the same as the a series (after the recent update). They fit worse compared to the a series and both have pretty low max volume and the case and buds drain quickly on both. Difference being they have ANC, didn't block out anything for me I can't tell on vs off. So def not much better no, you shouldn't assume something is better simply because it's called pro.

also getting a product for free when you spent $550 on a phone isn't exactly a great deal and they weren't free if you spent $550
