Got the 64 with premium pen for not much more. Thanks. I am trying to get the used cover but any one won't let me proceed to buy. Not sure if it due to prime day or a bug in the software.

There is no "instant" voucher. It's after the appraisal is made, so waaaay past Prime Day.

Almost had me, Amazon. Maybe some other time.

How did you get 20% voucher? After you printed the shipping label and shipped the item ? Instructions say that voucher will be available in 10 days after the appraisal.

Instant 20% is account-based. My account has it available as well. If you want to take advantage of the current sale, submit your trade in to bring in to a local Whole Foods. Others report that the 20% voucher is available minutes after submitting your kindle to Whole Foods (vs waiting for a true appraisal at a 3rd party site).

Account based as mentioned. This is standard info for Amazon trade in. Have done probably around 5 trade ins through the years with 4 being instant 20% off and 1 being after item was received. I did same day shipping for the Kindle Scribe and already have it in hand. Got the 64 GB with premium pen and used leather folio cover. The leather came with some scuff/scratches on it but functions fine.

There is a specific, small, list of Whole Foods that accept trade ins according to the web site.

On the bright side, it looks like a bunch of the Amazon Hub Lockers also count and it says that you get your credit within 30 minutes.

I don't believe this is account based. If the device is registered to your account and there are no other active trade ins, then I was able to trigger the instant coupon.

Edit: Turns out the deal on the new kindle is dead. RIP.
