Nearly all cases of that issue originated with 3rd-party sellers on Amazon, so ppl wrongly blamed Amazon when it was really careless buyers using questionable 3rd party Amazon sellers with little top no history to blame.
I've ordered approx 30 SD cards from Amazon over the past 10 years and never once received a fake.

Aside from that, you can easily check any Samsung SD or microSD card by using Samsung's own authenticity utility program, which is a 14.7 MB file that can be downloaded at this link (it's at bottom of page):

It's too bad that the Samsung Endurance cards top out at 256GB. I wish they would expand that line to 512GB, as that would fit my needs better.

With Viofo pushing affiliate links to SanDisk cards at Amazon and their own "brand" of cards, I wonder if the recommendation is just a way to get more profit.

Counterfeits being mixed in from bad sellers using prime shipping with genuine cards sold from good sellers using prime shipping. They get thrown in the prime shipping bucket and a random one is pulled.

Or at least how I understand it.

I've never had a counterfeit when buying "sold by Amazon." The "comingled" story is a decade old or more with no recent proof that I've come across concerning Amazon-sold cards. "Sold by Amazon" items are painted with the same brush after people bought from a third party (which can also occur on Walmart and other marketplace sellers, too). And I've read nothing like that about this card whatsoever. Then again, the less money someone gives Amazon, the better. laugh out loud

So what makes this more suitable for use in a device that's constantly writing to this, including previously written sectors? Wears out less over time, saves data faster or more reliably, etc.? We've got several basic security cameras like Wyze, etc., and so far no apparent issues with "regular" MicroSD cards.
