The black Casio Royale (AE-1200WH) is an awesome watch. I've used it trail running, swimming laps, and crew/rowing. $16 is a pretty good price. I got my for $12.50 a couple years ago. But who knows if it will go that low again with inflation.

The orange AE-1000W is pretty much the same watch with a bulkier, bolder design. If you like that style, $12.15 is a killer price.

If they made the Royale in orange similar to like the NASA gshock, that would be rad. I'd definitely have one. I have the "stainless" Royale, and I'd swear it's more accurate than my Bulova chronometer. Mine has only gained like 30 seconds over the last two years last time I checked. So impressive. And it was like $12.

If my past experience is any indication those resin straps will give out long before the battery. Not sure if there are inexpensive strap replacements for those because it would be a shame to throw away a whole watch just because the strap is gone.

amazon sells replacements. i have never broken a strap in years of use, but if your job is tough on straps then i keep mine in my pocket during the high stress use.

the batteries last a long time on the 10 year battery life watches. nice to have these cheap but good casios.

I just have them on all the time, including showers and pool/beach trips. The strap gets hard and brittle and eventually loses a lot of its elasticity and then falls apart. It's not a single incident thing.
