People buy these... on purpose? I thought they were just a battery that would come with low end/priced combos? I see these for $10 on OU and FBM quite often.

It's just strange seeing them sold outside the combo.

Yeah I don't know why anybody would buy this unless weight/space was an issue for a small job.

Because there people sell them because they got them as part of a pre-built set, and they don't have a use for the smaller Batts. I had no idea they even sold the 1.5ah outside of the tool sets.

It's super light for the 20V ratchet and impact driver. I find it's handy to have one or two of these for those tools that I'm lugging around for short uses. I wouldn't try to use it on a circular saw, sander or chainsaw....LOL.

See, I prefer the 3ah. It's a bit wider (more stable for standing up) and has the 21700 cells.

These I always used to replace cells in the 5ah back in the day lol. I'd also use them for charging cell phones, and laptops in emergencies (hurricanes) and keep the larger batteries for fans and lights lol. People will trade a kidney for a fan come 5 days after a deep summer hurricane. (Yep... I'm down a kidney. 😆 🤣 jk)

Agreed, 5 AH is basically the minimum

They're great for drills for homeowner level. I bought extra to have on for all of mine. The bigger batteries are used on the bigger stuff like blower and chainsaw.

Awesome price. And finally a reason to have an amazon business account. I've had one for a while and it seems to offer no benefit in nearly any other purchase. I really just use it when my normal account has exceeded the allowable purchase quantity of a particular item (dumb).

1.5ah battery lasts me weeks in my impact driver doing light duty work. Agreed you'd want a much bigger battery if running a saw or running screws into an entire deck or something.

I have a few of these that came as parts of combos I've purchased over the years. They are actually pretty handy for drills and drivers and last a while. Their smaller size can occasionally be handy to fit in a tight space, especially when using my impact tools for automotive work. They also fully charge fairly quick so you can swap them as needed.

On drills/drivers,they are very light vs a 5 or 6 ah battery so its nice if you are going to be using one all day, especially when working over your head. Every little bit helps.

For saws, they are not very useful as the battery only lasts a few minutes.

I would say that if you somehow have collected a bunch of Dewalt stuff but none of these little batteries, it's probably worth it to get a couple. If you already have a few, no real need for more.

Outstanding price. I have 2 of these from a drill/driver and impact driver kit. I typically grab my 3Ah batteries for those tools unless I'm driving deck screws, in which case I use a 5Ah battery for my driver. I find these 1.5Ah batteries are ideal for my DeWalt flashlights. In that application they are lightweight, and last a good long while. The only negative I can think of is that they are the only DeWalt 20v batteries that I'm aware of that don't come with a fuel gauge, but at this price, and for the right application, I wouldn't hesitate.

Thanks for the comments. These are perfect for my cleaning flashlights that servers use to clean up at the end of the night.
